Colorado's House Majority Leader Crisanta Duran is a Trail Blazer

Momentum continues to build non-partisan Latina Leadership across the country.  In the state of Colorado, it's our goal to increase Latina representation at local, state and national levels. The LatinasRepresent Colorado committee recently came out in strong numbers to support Majority Leader Representative Crisanta Duran, the first Hispanic woman to serve as either party’s majority leader in Colorado, at the opening of the 70th General Assembly on January 7th. Attending this event reinvigorated the committee to drive the conversation about the need for Latina representation in government.  Read the Denver Post article here.

LatinasRepresent National Conference in San Antonio, TX

On January 26 and 27 in San Antonio, Texas, LatinasRepresent members and invited guests from across the country, met for two days of dialogue and shared learning. We had an opportunity to listen in "how-to" sessions and have robust discussions on best practices and lessons learned. Now we can build our leadership tool kit to steward and encourage young Latinas to get involved in public and civic service.
