Transforming Partnerships Across Sectors
Changing the Game in Cross-Sector Collaboration
At the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado (LCFC), we believe the key to creating lasting change lies in the power of authentic partnerships. By working closely with communities and building their capacity, we uncover and uplift their strengths. At the same time, we act as a vital bridge, connecting communities with the corporate, nonprofit, and public systems needed to drive transformational change. What Makes Our Approach Different?
Our expertise lies in understanding the nuanced needs of communities. We’re not just connecting partners—we're creating mutually beneficial relationships that thrive on trust, authenticity, and shared purpose. When communities succeed, everyone wins.
Here’s how we stand out in building meaningful partnerships:
A Local-First Approach: We work alongside communities statewide, amplifying local voices and ensuring their needs are driving solutions.
Capacity Building with Purpose: From leadership development to program support, we strengthen the organizations that form the backbone of Colorado's communities.
Bridging Communities and Systems: We create partnerships that build long-term solutions by aligning the strengths of nonprofits, corporate partners, and public systems.
Introducing Power Together: Energy Solutions for Colorado Communities
A pilot initiative advancing LCFC’s values of community leadership, clarity, and collaboration.
Power Together helps communities navigate and benefit from energy savings programs by improving access, building trust, and closing gaps between what’s offered and what’s experienced.
Initiated by Xcel Energy and co-designed with us, this pilot is based on a simple premise: programs only work when people can use them. Power Together seeks input from community partners to better understand the barriers residents face when accessing support to help in their energy journey. From confusing applications to unclear eligibility criteria, LCFC and community action partners collaborate with Xcel Energy to make those systems more responsive. The goal: ensure that utility savings, energy efficiency upgrades, and renewable energy opportunities reach the households that need them.
“There are programs out there that can help lower energy costs—but too often, they don’t connect in ways that feel clear or accessible. Power Together is about bridging the intent of those programs with how people are experiencing them,” said Carlos Martinez, President and CEO of LCFC. “This is the kind of work LCFC is built to do—bringing institutions and community partners together, creating space for honest feedback, and helping systems respond with greater clarity and care.” - Carlos Martinez, CEO, Latino Community Foundation
Power Together also reflects LCFC’s broader vision: to elevate community-rooted solutions that harness local agency, improve well-being, and strengthen Colorado’s nonprofit ecosystem. It’s an early but powerful step toward a future where trust, transparency, and shared leadership guide how systems evolve.
